Record Research was founded in 1955 by Leonardt Kunstadt, unofficially as an extension of 'Record Changer' magazine. It featured discographical research into record labels and series and dates and personnel, but also frequently spread into editorials and opinions, subject discographies, historical and biographical research, and even a long-running comic panel.

Disclaimer! This text is presented here as a historical document. It might seem hard to believe once you start reading, but I think the author had good intentions in writing and delivering these speeches and essays. To a current reader, they'll range from humorously misguided to shockingly racist, but they faithfully represent the mind of a white woman at the turn of the century trying to communicate black culture and lore to a white audience. Jeannette Robinson Murphy was a writer, speaker,...

A history of the Crocker family, from Thomas Crocker and Rachel Chappell (married 1667 in New London Connecticut), to the author's great grandmother Cynthia Sprague (1787-1884). Jeannette Robinson Murphy was born in Louisville Kentucky in 1865, and died in Haywood County, North Carolina in 1946. I was able to trace her relationship to Lucy Crocker using vital records on Ancestry.org. Jeannette's parents were Norman Robinson (1829-1904) and Leora Bettisen (1840-??). Norman's parents were Samuel...
